“ Absolutely satisfied my Italian craving! Believe we were the first to be served tonight as there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant (arrived around 5.40pm) so service was quick, and looked like there was one chef on tonight, so food came about in reasonable time also. All dishes came beautifully presented with microgreens and a touch of edible flowers. Greens used in the antipasti and salad were fresh and crisp and wonderfully seasoned with olive oil and balsamic. Would highly recommend their prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella. It was my favourite dish of the night by far. Pasta was al dente and well seasoned, as well as piping hot!! Pizza was woodfire grilled, so it had the best crispy base with a little bit of char for flavour and colour, and generous toppings including generous mozzarella, so enjoyed a really good cheese pull! ”

What a nice surprise! food was stunning and my daughter who only likes French fries almost finished the whole plate of white pasta. The portion is unbelievable! Highly recommend to Aucklanders who are paying same price for 1/4 of the portion. 5 stars for all the dishes and lovely chef and waiter. Really really impressed ”

“ I picked up a takeaway order from Giovanni's Italian Restaurant and it was fantastic. I can honestly say they serve the best Italian food in Rotorua, and the quality really shows. I ordered the Gnocchi with Bolognese sauce and was impressed by both the flavor and portion size. The Bolognese was rich and hearty, clearly slow-cooked to perfection, and the gnocchi were tender and perfectly prepared. The serving was massive, definitely great value for money. I also tried their Quattro Formaggi Pizza with added spinach and bacon. The four cheese blend was incredible and my additions complemented it beautifully. The crust had that perfect balance of crispy and chewy that you want in a great pizza. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take real care with their cooking. The takeaway service was really quick too, which was perfect when I was hungry and ready to eat! If you're craving authentic Italian food in Rotorua, Giovanni's is the place to go. I'll definitely be returning soon! ”
